We are looking for an industrious Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate’s priorities will be to create new business opportunities, close deals, and maintain strong relations and partnerships.

Job responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and identify new business opportunities in the Oil & gas, maritime & energy sectors – including new markets, growth areas, trends, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Review and analyze tenders and EOI’s for both the technical and commercial parts.
  • Source for client’s demands or tender for machinery and spares from OEMs and stockists in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
  • Oversee the preparation of tenders and EOI’s keeping to AES standards and ensure timely submission
  • Build good relationships with new and existing clients
  • Develop quotes and proposals for clients
  • Develop goals for the business development team and ensure they are met
  • Develop growth strategies and plans to secure more business opportunities for the company
  • Carry out business presentations/meetings on the company’s services and capabilities to potential clients
  • Ensure that statutory documents required for the smooth running of the department are renewed when due


  • The preferred candidate must have a technical background, but a non-technical candidate can be considered if s/he has previous BD experience in oil & gas, energy services, or marine
  • Must have over 7 years of experience in the Oil & gas, Maritime, and Energy sectors
  • Must have the determination and drive to seek new business opportunities to meet or exceed targets
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have great presentation skills
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to write reports using the appropriate technical terms
  • Must have the ability to self-motivate and motivate a team
